PEL Power: The US Export Arm of a Manufacturing Giant

PEL Power operates as the United States export division of Pak Elektron Limited (PEL) — Pakistan's most established electrical equipment manufacturer and the first company to manufacture power transformers in the country when it was founded on March 3, 1956.

PEL is publicly listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange and operates across two major business divisions: Appliances (consumer electronics) and Power (industrial electrical equipment). PEL Power represents the Power Division's engagement with American utilities, EPC contractors, and industrial procurement teams seeking a reliable, long-term manufacturing partner.

We are not a trading company or broker. Every product sold through PEL Power is manufactured at PEL's own facilities in Lahore, Pakistan — under the same ISO-certified quality management systems that supply grid operators and utilities across Pakistan and international markets.

1956

PEL Founded — Pakistan's First Power Transformer Manufacturer

On March 3, 1956, Pak Elektron Limited was incorporated and began manufacturing power transformers — the very first product the company ever produced. This was the moment Pakistan's electrical industry was born.

1978

Instrument Transformer Division Established

PEL expanded its transformer capabilities by entering current transformer and potential transformer manufacturing — a capability it has maintained and grown for over 45 years.

2005

Dedicated Power Transformer Division Launched

Building on decades of distribution transformer experience, PEL formally established a dedicated power transformer manufacturing division in 2005 — enabling production of high-voltage, large-MVA units for transmission-level applications.

2009

Independent Distribution Transformer Factory

To meet the growing domestic and international demand for distribution transformers, PEL established a fully independent, purpose-built factory dedicated exclusively to this product line.

2019

KEMA Certification for Energy Meters

PEL's energy meters achieved KEMA certification — a globally recognized third-party type-testing achievement that validates meter accuracy, reliability, and international standards compliance.

2020

ISO/IEC 17025 Transformer Lab Accreditation

PEL's Transformer Testing Laboratory achieved ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation from PNAC — the national accreditation body — confirming the lab meets the highest international standards for testing competence.

2021

First IAC-Certified Kiosk Substation in Pakistan

PEL became the first local manufacturer to attain the Certification of Internal Arc Classification (IAC) on a Kiosk Substation — demonstrating MV switchgear manufacturing capability at international standards.
