Distribution Transformers

Distribution Transformers
Reliable Energy Delivery to Every Load

PEL has been manufacturing distribution transformers since its founding in 1956. In 2009, PEL established an independent, purpose-built factory dedicated to distribution transformer production — reflecting the scale of demand from utilities across Pakistan and international markets.

The distribution transformer range spans oil-immersed, dry-type (VP-impregnated), and autotransformer variants, suitable for every distribution network topology encountered in the US market.

  • Oil-immersed core-type transformers for outdoor installation
  • Dry-type (VP-impregnated) transformers for indoor applications
  • Autotransformer configurations available
  • Corrugated wall tanks for enhanced cooling efficiency
  • Detachable radiators for high-rating units
  • Hermetically sealed designs for maintenance-free operation
  • Full range of voltage ratios per US customer specifications

Smart Energy Meters AMR

Smart Energy Meters
AMR / AMI Ready for Modern Grids

PEL's energy metering products are built on AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) and AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) platforms. The technology automatically collects consumption and status data from energy metering devices and transfers it to a central database — enabling real-time billing, fault detection, and load analysis.

Rather than billing on estimates, AMR/AMI delivers actual interval consumption data — enabling both utility operators and end customers to better manage energy use and production. PEL's energy meter plant holds ISO 9002 certification, and the 2019 KEMA certification of PEL energy meters stands as a milestone achievement in the company's metering history.

  • AMR and AMI-enabled meters — RF and GSM/GPRS communication
  • Single-phase, three-phase, and LT/HT meter variants
  • DLMS/COSEM protocol for full interoperability
  • Pre-programmed interval consumption recording
  • KEMA certified (energy meter range)
  • Meter energy plant: ISO 9002 certified
  • Net metering-approved units available (PEPCO approved)
  • PEL-developed AMR server software included for AMI deployments
